How to create mat file for 60 colour images

Hi Can any one guide me to create .mat file of 60 or more colour images so that I can use this file for motion detection.please give me the complete code for it.

my_images = dir('*.png');          % adapt to your images extension
I = cell(numel(my_images),1);      % initialize a cell array to hold the images
for k=1:numel(my_images)
    I{k}=imread(my_images(k).name);
end

You will end up with a cell array containing an image on each cell.
