How do I access excel data in simulink?

I have an excel file which has data from different sensors. I want to access this data in simulink. I used the matlab function from the simulink library. In the matlab function, i used the xlsread command but it reports an error. I have done this in a general script file and it showed no errors but when i am trying to open it in simulink this error is occurring. Is there any other way to access the excel data in simulink
