Problem 60806. Estimating Battery Backup Time for an Inverter
In a Battery Management System (BMS), estimating the backup time of a battery-powered inverter helps determine how long it can supply power during an outage. The backup time (T) can be calculated using the formula:
where:
is the battery capacity (in ampere-hours, Ah)
is the battery voltage (in volts, V)
is the efficiency of the inverter (as a decimal, e.g., 0.9 for 90% efficiency)
is the power consumption of the connected load (in watts, W)
- T is the estimated backup time (in hours)
Write a function to estimate how long an inverter can run on a battery given its capacity, voltage, efficiency, and load power consumption.
