MBDT for BMS is an Add-On for MBDT for S32K3xx 1.4.0.
Following are the steps to install NXP’s Model-Based Design Toolbox for BMS:
1. Go to Add-On Manager in MATLAB and select the NXP Support Package BMS Toolbox. Select Open Folder option to navigate to the installation path.
2. Run NXP_Support_Package_BMS script and follow the next quick steps as guided by the installer:
2.1 Create an account with NXP (toolbox is for free but account is requested to download the tool and access training & support on NXP Model Based Design Toolbox Community).
2.2. Download NXP Model-Based Design Toolbox for BMS
2.3. Install the toolbox
2.4. Verify the correct installation
The NXP’s Model-Based Design Toolbox for BMS version 1.2.0 is designed to support MC33775A, MC33774A, MC33772C, MC33664 and MC33665A BCCs into MATLAB/Simulink environment, allowing users to:
- Design applications using Model-Based Design methodologies;
- Simulate and Test Simulink models for Li-Ion Battery Cell Controllers before deploying the models to the hardware targets;
- Interface the Battery Cell Controllers from Simulink Blocks and Configure via external configuration tools: NXP S32 Configuration Tools or EB Tresos
- Generate the application code automatically without any needs for hand coding C/ASM
- Deployment of the application directly from MATLAB/Simulink to the NXP evaluation boards and Reference Designs.
NXP’s Model-Based Design Toolbox for BMS version 1.2.0 requires NXP’s Model-Based Design Toolbox for S32K3XX version 1.4.x to be installed in MATLAB.
