This Matlab code can compress true color or gray-scale images using Fractal Image Compression technique in gray scale.
Also, you can use GPU for the acceleration. This code uses fixed S value (scaling factor=1 ) during the encoding stage but the brightness can be quantized by any value between 1-8 bits.
