SCHOTT GLASS TOOLBOX
The Schott Glass Toolbox is a collection of functions for the study, visualization,
and numerical evaluation of the optical characteristics of all the Schott glasses.

Information on the glass data, which builds the groundwork for this toolbox, can be
found online at 'www.schott.de'.

SYNOPSIS
The basis for all the numerical computations, here, are the Sellmeier coefficients.
These are used for the calculation of all refractive indices by using the Sellmeier
dispersion formula.

The numerical values of the optical quantities for a particular glass, such as Abbe
number, partial dispersion etc., are obtained by passing the respective glass name
to the corresponding function.

Each function in the toolbox can be passed over to 'help' to see a description in the
Terminal/Command Window on how the particular function works and, to some extent, how
it relates to the other functions.

POSSIBLE USE CASES OF THE TOOLBOX MAY BE
- the study of optical glass characteristics
- auxiliary tool for the correction of chromatic aberrations
- reusing some of the functions in custom-built optical programs
- creation of publication-quality figures and visualization
- studying the code, improving it, and extending the toolbox
- having fun playing with it and exploring
- ...
