DC-DC Step-Down (Buck) Converter with Close-Loop Power Ctrl

This model demonstrates the fundamental principle of a DC-DC buck converter that controls the output power with a closed loop PI control.

One 1 V source is connected at the input of the buck converter, and a 0.5 V voltage with a 0.1 Ohm inner resistance is connected at the output to represent a battery to be charged. The output power (charging power) is under control using a closed loop PI controller. The controller is to adjust the PWM duty-ratio of the buck converter to change to the output voltage. The output V, I are measured and multiplied to be feedback to the controller to be compared with the target charging power. Accordingly, the closed loop power control is realised.

DashBoard tools are used to make the model more interesting and intuitive.
