Hardware Setup

Set up and connect your hardware boards


Hardware boards supported by MathWorks® require additional setup steps to connect to MATLAB® and Simulink® software. The Hardware Setup tool guides you through the hardware setup process. Use this tool to configure a target hardware board for use with FPGA-in-the-loop (FIL), FPGA data capture, and AXI manager over the JTAG, Ethernet, PCI Express®, and USB Ethernet interfaces. The hardware setup process for the HDL Verifier™ Support Package for Xilinx® FPGA Boards comprises these steps:

  • Specify a hardware board and interface.

  • Install the USB Ethernet drivers on the host computer (for the USB Ethernet interface only).

  • Configure the network interface card in the host computer (for the Ethernet or USB Ethernet interface only).

  • Copy the compatible secure digital (SD) card image files for the hardware board to an SD card drive path (for the Ethernet interface on a Versal® or Zynq® SoC board or for the USB Ethernet interface only).

  • Configure your hardware board to start up from the SD card (for the Ethernet interface on a Versal or Zynq SoC board or for the USB Ethernet interface only).

  • Install the PCIe driver on the host computer (for the PCI Express interface only).

  • Connect your hardware board to the host computer.

  • Verify the connection between the host computer and the hardware board.

Open the Hardware Setup

  • In the install window, at the end of the installation process, click the Setup Now button.

  • After installing the HDL Verifier Support Package for Xilinx FPGA Boards, use Get and Manage Add-Ons. When the installation is complete, in the Add-On Manager, click the Gear icon .
