Visualize, Validate, and Tune Parameter Values
Use plotting tools or simulation results to plot block-level characteristics. You can tune parameter values to obtain better agreement between these plots and physical measurements or other simulation data. If you do not have measurements or simulation data for parameterization, you can instead tune parameter values to satisfy your design requirements and then plot device characteristics to help you select a manufactured part.

PMSM Iron Losses
A test harness for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that validates that the iron losses are as expected. The open-circuit test validates the main flux path losses which are defined to be 500W due to hysteresis and 1500W due to eddy current losses. The short-circuit test validates the cross-tooth flux path losses which are defined to be 200W due to hysteresis and 600W due to eddy current losses.
Stepper Motor Pull-in Characteristics
Parameterize and tune a stepper motor using manufacturer datasheet information and a test harness. The model is parameterized using numerical data extracted from a datasheet. The simulation generates pull-in torque characteristics that you can compare to a manufacturer-provided pull-in curve. To tune the stepper motor model, the example uses a test harness that varies the drive type and load parameters.

Instead of collecting voltage and current waveforms from a real supercapacitor, this example generates voltage and current waveforms by running a simulation of a supercapacitor using known parameter values. Then the example applies a parameter identification methodology [1] to the waveforms.
Model Ferrite Core Using Magnetic Core Block
Adjust the Jiles-Atherton parameters to obtain a good fit for the B-H curve of a magnetic core. The Magnetic Core block uses the Jiles-Atherton model to define the relationship between the magnetic flux density, B, and the total field strength, H. You can parametrize the block by specifying the Jiles-Atherton parameters directly. Alternatively, you can parameterize the block using saturated B-H curve data or by specifying magnetic characteristics. If you do not specify the Jiles-Atherton parameters directly, the block estimates the Jiles-Atherton parameters based on the assumption that you have a saturated iron core. This estimate is not always accurate for other types of core, such as ferrites with small values of coercivity and remanence. Always check that the B-H curve the block uses matches your input data.
