a chronometer in GUI

I want to display a chronometer in GUI . I need to know what to do when I click a button it shows me a sort of counter (chronometer) which count the seconds and stops when i press another button (stop). i wonder if it is possible? thx

There is an app very much like the one you are looking for on File Exchange. Would that one work to get you started?

and what if i want to include this chronometer into my principal code wich records the humain voice then measures some parameter of the voice how can I do it? and thx a lot
