tabs in figure legend, gone in EPS or PDF format

I have legend in a figure in which I want to align some elements. This works great in the figure. But when I try to save the figure to eps or pdf the tabs are gone. In jpg there are present. How can I export the figure to a latex file while keeping the tabs?
