How do I save an ROI drawn on one image and load it onto another one?

I know how to get the coordinates of an ROI and plot them, but what I want to be able to do is to place the original polygon, with the adjustable vertices, onto the new image, so I can adjust it on the new figure. That is, I want the following result, assuming the polygon was drawn in the previous image:

I then want to adjust the ROI to fit it for what I need for the new image, and so on. Drawing a new ROI each time makes little sense, because the changes from image to image are slight (this ROI is just a sample and is unrelated to what I'm doing), and there are hundreds of images in total that I need to do this for.
