How to search a folder on gui interface without going on back end ?

I have designed a Gui regarding Patients information. Suppose I have ten patients of unique names and i want to search any folder on GUI interface without going on back end and also without use of uigetdir. Kindly revert back if someone have any idea regarding the same. Thanks in advance.
