How to get the email-adress of the signed in Mathworks account?

Hi,

in a GUI I would like to automatically get the email adress of the signed-in Mathwork account, i.e. when I'm using Matlab and I'm signed in with my Mathworks account, the program should automatically use my email adress. Is there a way to achieve this?

Hi Prateek,

the GUI should be for reservation of some instruments and after booking I would like to programmatically send a confirmation email to the user. Using the email adress of the signed in Mathworks account has two advantages in my opinion, which are (1) preventing typing errors by the user and (2) just a simpification for the user that he/she doesn't need to type his/her adress.

Mathworks accounts have two different email addresses associated. One of the addresses is for business use, such as communication with Mathworks about accounts and about Service requests. The other address is for use as the destination for messages sent through the Contact User page, and for notification about subscribed posts, and also some of the monthly mail-outs.

thanks for the comment, but I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing... From my side as a user I can only remember giving one single email adress when creating my mathworks account. Or am I wrong? Nevertheless, coming back to may original question, is there a way to get one of the email adresses for use in a program?

Notice the email address there only affects "community" use, such as Answers notifications. This is different from your account profile used for business purposes, reached at https://www.mathworks.com/mwaccount/profiles/edit

I do not know if there is a way to fetch the email address.

In the particular case of MS Windows, if the user is logging into the desktop (not multiple users on the same desktop who just log in within MATLAB), then you might be able to find something useful using the information at https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/1257005/How-to-Find-Users-Email-Address
