Finding A String In A Specific Column of A Table (SQLite)

I have a table consisting of several columns and ran code to isolate only the last 6 characters of a specific column in that table. Now I need to search for a string in this new column that I have made, not sure how to include the code that isolated this new column into the code that will find the string? Thx
Code To isolate Column:
SELECT substr(column,28)
FROM table

Read about strfind and strcmp.

If this were a MATLAB table, it would be something like
endsWith(T.StringVar,"sixChr")
but I don't know what context you are working in.
