how to conver this 2d countour line into something CAD can read as a profile e.g. dxf., dwg.or anthing that works

Hi there,

I generated a shape using contourf in MATLAB and I wish to put it into FEA analysis to make it a CAD model based on the same profile (green area) with certain thicknees. Can anyone please help or provide some guidance? Many thanks.

Hi Katherine, I am curious if you considered using the MATLAB PDE toolbox to perform the FEA (meshing, applying loads and constraints, and analysis)? If you are exporting the file as a CAD to a FEA software, how does the software know where to position the mesh (where is material and where is void)? Cheers

Some interesting geometry you have there. I am trying to build a porous 2D geometry and I've only managed working with circles. Your geometry seems a more realistic representation of the porous structure I need to model. I wanted to request that if you don't mind, kindly share with me the code you have used to generate your geometry. I used 'bubblebath' function for my geometry.

@Joan Hi Joan, the porous geometry was generated using topology optimization method SEMDOT. There is a article related to that. You can definetely have a go with the code at the back. I just modify the mesh to make it looks repeated. Sorry I cannot share my code at this stage because that may related to some content I am planning to publish.
