Matlab r2019a won't start. Gray window and nothing else

This morning, Matlab stopped working for me.

Worked yesterday before going to bed and this morning a bit.

Then, when I took a break, I turned off the computer.

When I returned to work, I found the indicated problem.

I tried to reinstall (without deleting, just re-recording to the existing partition - it did not help).

What could be the problem?

Unfortunately that does not show any error message, or anything other than the icon.

Quite right. And I can not get any more information, unfortunately.

If you right-click on the icon on your desktop, you should be able to see from the properties which executable it tries to start. Try opening a terminal window and invoking the name of that executable "by hand" to see if any error message comes up.

If you are running an anti-virus program, check its logs to see if it is quarantining something.

Okay, I'll try your first suggestion. As for the antivirus, I checked it. He does not swear on matlab.

@Walter Roberson I did the following. I have a "Process Explorer" program. I launched Matlab and then open PE. There I found the Matlab process and selected the "Restart process" option. Matlab restarted and now works. For now, at least. I'll watch more.
