Printing circles using vector output results in aproximated circles with segmented lines

Lately, with release 2014b, I haven't been able to print actual circles in any vector based format (I tried pdf, eps, svg). Instead I get a series of segmented lines which approximate the circle (after zooming in):
I tried both the regular print function as well as the export_fig function on File Exchange. I've also tried increasing the resolution of the pdf, using the scatter command, and trying different sizes of circles.
plot(0,0,'ob')
print('uu.pdf','dpdf')
scatter(0,0,'b')
export_fig('uu.pdf')
I used to be able to generate true circular objects in pdfs. Can anyone confirm this behavior? Is there any way to force circular objects to be printed in pdf?

OK, I found a workaround. First use the plot2svg command on File Exchange, then use inkscape to convert to PDF:
plot(0,0,'ob')
plot2svg('uu.svg',gcf)
system(['"E:\Program Files (x86)\Inkscape\inkscape.exe" ' pwd '\' 'uu.svg'...
' --export-pdf="' pwd '\' 'uu.pdf"'])
delete('uu.svg')
This isn't super satisfying, but at least circles can be generated for pdf's.
If anyone has a more native solution to this problem, please let me know.

The current implementation of plot2svg doesn't seem to be able to export legends, so this workaround doesn't quite work for me.
