MATLAB Standalone App Issue with Windows 10 v20H2 and newer

14 visualizzazioni (ultimi 30 giorni)
Hello,
I work in a research lab where we are using MATLAB standalone apps to collect data, and provide visual feedback with Blender. Our app is compiled on my laptop with MATLAB 2020b and installed on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 systems.
We have noticed that the app works well with Windows 10 v1909 but when the Surface Pro updates to Windows 10 v20H2, the app freezes very often. Is this an issue that anyone else has faced? Microsoft is pushing updates so we are not able to stay with v1909 for very long and I am trying to find out if there is a way to address this issue. The apps also freeze on Windows 11.
Any help or advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi Ahalya Mandana,
It appears to me that your MATLAB Standalone App freezes very often on Windows 10 v20H2 and newer. Issues with MATLAB standalone apps freezing after a Windows update can occur due to a variety of factors, including compatibility issues with the new OS version, changes in system libraries, or graphics driver updates that come with the OS upgrade. Here are few steps to address the issue:
  1. Update MATLAB: Check if there are any updates or patches for MATLAB that address compatibility issues with newer versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  2. Graphics Drivers: Check for updates to the graphics drivers on the Surface Pro systems and ensure they are up to date with the latest version supported by the OS.
  3. MATLAB Runtime: Ensure that the MATLAB Runtime version installed on the Surface Pro systems matches the version used to compile the app. An incompatibility here could cause issues.
Best Regards,
Abhishek Chakram
