I am following instructions provided in the "Read Serial Data From GPS Shield Using Arduino Hardware '' tutorial to read GPGGA - and GPRMC data from a ZED-F9P GPS module connected to an arduino mega. I am able to read the data output from the GPS module in an arduino serial, and it is indeed only GPGGA and GPRMC code. Nevertheless , when running the simulink model, no data is received through the serial receive block. The GPS module baudarate is the same as the baudrate specified in the serial receive port settings. The COM port specified is also the correct one, port 1 . The tutorial sets the NMEA code data type as uint8 with length 32, i tried changing data type and /or length to no avail. I believe the issue might lie in the fact that NMEA codes are strings , hence the data type is not recognized by the serial port . Any advice would be helpful, Thanks in advance .
