which algorithm is better than OMP algorithm in sparse vector generation for signal recovery?

I have generated the sparse vector for signal recovery using OMP algorithm,but i want to know whether there is any other algorithm better than OMP algorithm in sparse vector generation. Thanks in advance..

"Better" depends on your exact needs. It could mean faster, more accurate, using less memory, more robust agains numerical instabilities, shorter code or matching your type of measurements.
