How to calculate quaternions of an colour image? what function or syntax I should use to calculate the Quaternions of an color image?

I have installed quaternion tool box to Matlab. To calculate the quaternion of an colour image I used the function q=quaternion(r,g,b); but it's giving an error showing that 'nargoutchk is checked not enough input arguments'. please can anyone help me to come out of this problem?
