Does anyone have any experience of allowing Simulink Real-Time to communicate with a speedgoat target from PC with the Trellix Endpoint Security Firewall?
Our local IT team allow us to disable the firewall briefly which allows us to connect to the target but they have been unable to create an exception rule that allows communication with the target.
Instructions (https://uk.mathworks.com/help/slrealtime/ug/troubleshoot-communication-failure-through-firewall.html) only cover the Windows Defender Firewall.
This is using MATLAB R2020b which uses the newer QNX real-time OS.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with establishing a connection between Simulink Real-Time and a Speedgoat target due to the Trellix Endpoint Security Firewall. While the instructions provided by MathWorks cover the Windows Defender Firewall, the process for creating an exception rule should be similar for other firewalls as well.
Here are some general steps that you can follow to create an exception rule for the Trellix Endpoint Security Firewall:
  1. Open the Trellix Endpoint Security Firewall settings.
  2. Look for an option to create a new rule or exception. This may be under a "Settings" or "Advanced" tab.
  3. Create a new rule that allows incoming and outgoing traffic on the ports used by Simulink Real-Time and the Speedgoat target. The default ports used by Simulink Real-Time are 22222, 22223, and 22224.
  4. Make sure to specify the protocol as TCP/IP.
  5. Save the new rule and make sure that it is enabled.
  6. Test the connection between Simulink Real-Time and the Speedgoat target.
If you are still having issues, you may need to work with your IT team or network administrator to ensure that the firewall is properly configured to allow communication between Simulink Real-Time and the Speedgoat target. You can also refer to the Trellix Endpoint Security Firewall documentation or contact their support team for further assistance.

The correct ports & protocols used by Simulink Real-Time in R2020b and later can be found here:
Many customers find that they need to specify additional UDP rules for smooth operation:
(even though the instructions are for Windows Defender, the same should work for any firewall software)
