How to reshape a 3D timeseries matrix(lon,lat,time) from daily to monthly? or from monthly to annual?

I need to convert a spatia-timeseries matrix from a daily resolution to a monthly resolution. A similar procedure exists for 1D timeseries but I havnet found one for 3D problems. Please refer to https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/46508-reshape_daily?s_tid=blogs_rc_5 for the 1D solution.
