Unable to launch local server from MATLAB 2015a

The problem is with MATLAB 2015a.
web('www.google.com') , works fine.
Now I am using a local server to launch a web application, but the webpage is empty, means nothing is loaded.
stat = web('localserver') gives '0' as output argument , means found and started system browser.
com.mathworks.mlwidgets.html.HtmlComponentFactory.setDefaultType('HTMLRENDERER');
com.mathworks.mlwidgets.html.HtmlComponentFactory.setDefaultType('HTMLPANEL');
Switching between these two is not helping as well
Also, the same local server works fine in MATLAB 2021a version.

Since you say it works with r2021a, why not simply upgrade to the latest r2024a?
The requirement is that, the local server must run on 2015a
Can you specify what does 'localserver' mean? or it is just 'localhost'

Hi,
I understand you want to launch a web application using a local server.
I am currently utilizing the Python Flask framework to create a server, and I am able to access it successfully. It is possible that the issue you are encountering is due to some configuration discrepancies.
Running the following code in MATLAB 2015a, gives 0 as output and starts system browser with home page selected in the server, as shown in the screenshots below .
stat=web('localhost:8000')
For further understanding, please follow the MathWorks documentation for “web” function.
