gaussian filter for image processing

I want to implement this expression for palm images acquired. I also want to calculate mean and standard deviation for the mask. Please help me in obtaining gaussian mask and oblige the needful. Thanks in advance

Attached see my DOG filter demo, which uses two Gaussian filters and subtracts them.
