Does MATLAB work on macbook Pro with M4(M4, M4Pro, Max) tips?

I am thinking to buy a new macbook Pro prefering M4(M4, M4Pro, or Max) tips due to the better performance and buttery life.
Does MATLAB, which I have used (MATLAB2022b), work on these laptops?
Any restrictions on the performance, OS, or version of MATLAB (do I have to upgrde either Matlab or OS; or both)?

There are some performance issue with apple silicon although those are annoying but not a deal breaker.

In particular note that in R2022b, MATLAB ran under Rosetta 2 on Silicon Mac, not natively. You will be handicapping MATLAB by not using a native Silicon version of MATLAB. R2023b was the first version to run natively on Apple Silicon; some of the newer versions made important performance improvements. The upcoming R2025a (currently in pre-release) contains important performance improvements for native Apple Silicon.
thank you so much for your helpful info!
Do you know how much the difference on R2022b, MATLAB (running under Rosetta 2 on Silicon Mac), R2023b and R2025a, for example, rendering, image processing, FFT, etc, (those are my typical usages)...?
Unfortunately I do not run MATLAB on a Silicon Mac.
I will see if I can borrow one.
Thank you so much for your kind helps in advance.
Nice. M4 on a new Mac Studio model, just out of the box, R2025a prerelease...

which is roughly 3x faster than my old intel i9 iMac.
Thank you so much again!
