GUIDE has been officially retired in R2025a. See Sonja Sethi's blog post, "Goodbye GUIDE, Hello App Designer: Evolving your MATLAB Apps" for more details and recommendations.

GUIDE is just one way to create a GUI. I would recommend taking a look at this thread to check out alternatives.

If AppDesigner doesn't suit your needs, you still have options.

On a personal note: GUIDE hasn't been a good way to properly build GUIs for years. There are so many downsides I would personally only suggest it to get a first visual idea of a GUI. But even that can be achieved with Paint, or even with pen and paper.
