Empty cluster at iteration 2

Hi I am using [idx,C] = kmeans(X,k), but sometimes it shows the error empty cluster at iteration 2. What is the possible cause of error and how to resolve it ?

Is the "start" only option. I tried this with different start parameters, but still I am getting the error.

You may wish to change EmptyAction, such as 'EmptyAction', 'singleton'

Singletons usually do not end up gathering neighbors, and so usually indicate that the starting locations were not well chosen for the data. The starting locations are random by default and other than taking into account the range of the data, the random locations do not take into account the local density of the data.
