Gathering data from bluetooth connections on Beaglebone Black using Matlab

I'm trying to use a beaglebone black to gather motion data from a TI sensortag. The data is sent over a bluetooth connection and I know that matlab supports bluetooth, however, I want to know if matlab would be able to gather and process data that is being sent to the beaglebone over a bluetooth connection? I ask because on the page that describes matlab on the BBB it seems that that version of matlab has been specialized to gather data from devices that are connected physically to the beaglebone.
