RPi Camera module_Capture + compress image with MATLAB script

I want to capture image with RPi's camera and compress it - I would like to achieve that by sending program in MATLAB language from laptop to RPi2 so that RPi2 would do the capturing and compressing. The results would be sent back to laptop. I would like your opinion on the best way to do that - is it by using MATLAB Function block in Simulink or S-Function or maybe something else?

You cannot send a MATLAB program to the Raspberry; MATLAB will not run on the Raspberry operating system.

If you use a MATLAB Function block and set the target to Raspberry, and you make all the needed adjustments to the algorithm and code, then Simulink can build the code and send it to the Raspberry. Adapting the code can be difficult sometimes.
