Does audiowrite prevent clipping automatically?

Dear Matlab experts,
If I use wavwrite, I get a warning that the wav file is clipped. However, when I use audiowrite, I don't get any warnings. Does this mean that audiowrite can prevent clipping automatically?

What about trying it? Write an audio file without of range values, import it and compare the results.
