Dear all, what is the meaning of including number of iterations within ode45 syntax?

What is the meaning of the followig command? [t,theta]=ode45(@F,tbegin,tEnd,thetaInit,nIters,p) Where nIters=20000. What is the role played by the 'nIters' here? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's (trying) to use an older syntax for the ode45 function, one that is no longer documented. If you want to pass additional parameters into your integrand function (F in this case) there are other techniques you should use instead.
