MRI/PET medical image fusion algorithm with MRI-based attenuation correction

I am working in PET/MRI image fusion. I have read some paper about PET/MRI image fusion, those paper give a idea that use MRI for PET attenuation correction. But I don't know how to use attenuation information in PET/MRI fusion. please If anyone know about this ? thank you in advance
