Whats the best course of learning for signal processing and processor building in matlab/simulink

Basically the question is simple, I'm new to matlab and want to get your opinion on what the best course of action is for learning to work in theses areas with matlab. thanks for your time and consideration Brent David Cartwright (Doc)
