Integral of Signals/Vectors NOT functions

I have a vector of obj. RPM of the wheels and want to know when it reaches a fixed distance.

rpm_vector=[0 0 0 50 150 300 200 30 2 0]; 
distance= 50;

is it better to use trapz() or cumsum()? I tested trapz with x*x from 1 to 5 and trapz()=42 / integral()=41.67.

It sounds like "trapz" might be the better choice since it sounds like you want a numerical approximation for integration.
