Is there a way to put a background image on a graph

I'm trying to create a GUI that graphs a parabola and its vertex and focus can be adjusted by sliders. Can I put a background image on the parabola graph? I'm trying to put a picture of a man shooting a basketball and trying to trace its projectile with the adjustable parabola.
