Hello, when I try to produce c code from an m file (for example test), the c files produced, contain, apart from the test.c file, also a test_api.c. What is the use of this api file?

It defines the interface functions for the algorithm. Essentially, the function exported from test_api.h is the one you should be calling in your external application.
