what is difference of Gaussian fliter

hi, am working on document images, document images are first preprocessed by means of Difference of Gaussian (DoG)-filtering and binarisation to reduce the influence of noise. i dont know the concept Difference of Gaussian (DoG) please give me some matlab code to understand the concept Difference of Gaussian

Then, find a book, research paper or even a website that explains it. It's not from code that you're going to learn its principle.

Particularly, considering how trivial it is to implement, if you can't implement it yourself you're certainly not going to understand the code.
