Opening a ADPCM A-law wav file with AudioRead gives different results than other softwares (e.g. Praat, or Audacity) to me. Where AudioRead puts zero values, other tools show me non-zero samples. Also, playing the same sound after AudioRead read it, it sounds different (more noisy) than playing the same sound with other tools. So I'm interested in reading and playing correctly the sound (e.g. reading raw samples the processing with a custom function), and possibly find out why AudioRead behave different. I'm using a R2015b on Windows 7 64-bit. Any suggestion? Francesco

Ran into the same issue today with audioread. I used the readwav function from the VOICEBOX toolbox and it sounds much better.
