Can we connect arduino hardware to matlab( version 2012a)

I want to send data to arduino uno board from MATLAB version 2012a can I send it???

Yes. Install https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/32374-legacy-matlab-and-simulink-support-for-arduino
Note: do not give the 'uno' option in the arduino() call, just give the port number.
