How to creat a condition in Stateflow, which is actually more like an event?

I am making a state machine in Simulation right now about a real control device. The request from the control device only last very short time, which is actually more like an Event. But the device works in this way that it checks the Signal as a condition cyclically. So I want to creat in Stateflow a condition that lasts very short like an Event. Does anyone know how?
