Problem with Making a Folder in Win10

I want to create folder 't2', but MATLAB throws a warning that 'Directory already exists', although the folder does NOT exist. What is the problem and how to solve it?
>> cd
C:\Users\User2\Desktop
>> exist('t2', 'dir')
ans =
0
>> mkdir('C:\User\User2\Desktop\t2')
Warning: Directory already exists.
>> exist('t2', 'dir')
ans =
0

What does
exists('C:\User\User2\Desktop\t2', 'dir')
show? And
! C:\Windows\system32\attrib C:\User\User2\Desktop\t2
(You might need to play around with the exact path to attrib)
My silly mistake was there were two folders, one 'Users' and the other 'User'! Thanks!
Dang, I specifically looked for that kind of problem and still managed to overlook it!
