Why can't I preview a ActiveX control in the ActiveX Control Selector

When I select the Active control that is already registered on my computer in the Active Control Selector, the Preview section is blank. But I can create it successfully. Then I found some ActiveX Controls in the list don't have previews either. Why can't I preview a ActiveX control in the ActiveX Control Selector?
