exporting excel in windows standalone app in matlab

Can I have function xlsread('myfile.xlsx') in windows standalone function but I wish to select file i want matlab to read. For example I make app to find biggest number in matrix, and I want to import that matrix from xlsx file I want to choose.

You can use uigetfile to get a file name and directory from the user. Use fullfile() to create a complete file name from those two pieces of information.
