How to log persistent variables, if they are used in a user defined Matlab function in Simulink

Hi I have a matlab function in which i have used a few persistent variables as accumulators I need to log the signal and see the accumulator value in the Simulink data inspector I don't want to output them as signals or function outputs. How else can i log them and see them in Simulink data inspector
