How can I edit a figure that was created by a MATLAB standalone App?

Hi,
i was provided with a MATLAB standalone app. I want to add lines to a plot that was created by this app. How can this be done? Please note that I don't have access to the source code of the app.
The figure can not be referred to with 'gcf'.
