Display Output in Command Window

Hi,

Some function I ran has changed the way output is displayes in the command window.

>> 2+2

 [double 1x1]

 4.00000000

I think the disp or display functions have been overridden. I would like to restore the usual default format with ans. I have already tried

 format short

but this is ignored and the output remains the same.

clear all %at the very beginning of the code and try again

there might be some file ,variable or function with the name format please rename or delete it which might shadow the default built-in format

which format %in command window what does it show?

I think I found a temporary solution. In my path folder, there were two functions that replaced disp and display.

Having removed those folders from the default path made the issue go away.
