Categorical predictors in coxphfit

Dear Matlab developers,

I'm trying to fit a Cox proportional hazards model with some continous and categorical predictors. However, only "double" data type is allowed for the predictor matrix. How can I enter categorical predictors? Do I have to create my own dummy variables?
