Is there an easy way to insert/delete values in the beginning, middle or end of a array (both cell and numerical)

I want to be able to insert a value anywhere into a cell array or a numerical array (beginning, middle or end). I also want to be able to delete any value in an array given the numerical index. Is there an easy way to do this?
